Composition Trouvée, 2016 is an installation by Guillaume Bijl assembled with found objects, typically known from night-shops or fast-food restaurants.

Since the late 1970s Guillaume Bijl has developed artistic strategies to explore the relationship between art and social reality. Bijl’s installations question what is real and reveal the illusionary nature of reality. As the artist tries to ‘establish a direct interaction with reality by means of art form’, he creates intentionally dislocated environments in which the viewer becomes a figure participating in a fictional reality. These "three-dimensional still-life installations", as Bijl calls them, not only expose the role of objects within consumer society but also rupture one’s intuitive understanding of everyday experiences.

"In general, my work deals a lot with the public reception. I create in my fictional reality – installations : a sort of situation. The social aspect of my work is to show the archeology of our time, but then already now." — Guillaume Bijl
