Brass-colored metal, white lacquered on the inside. Very good vintage condition.
Imagine a sphere being cut into 4 equal parts and each part makes a lamp. An utterly simple but clever concept which led to this beautiful luminous wall lamp. The Quarto is designed by the Danish architects and designers Claus Bonderup and Torsten Thorup in the 80s. Their designs are often characterized by highly distilled forms, to which this refined wall light makes no exception.
Due to the timeless language of geometry, this quarter-sphere remains an ever-attracting classic. Whether shining up or down, used single or in plural, the Quarto always gracefully enhances its environment.

Bonderup (1943) and Thorup (1944) studied together at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture and kept working together for the greatest part of their career. They designed the Arktikum museum in Finland, watches and in-store displays for Georg Jensen, and one of their most impressive accomplishments was the realization of the entire harbour area in Helsingør in Denmark.
